Tammy Nara

Description
The inspiration for this comes from a poem titled Reverie With a Fox. It is about encountering an animal in your path when you are not expecting it. I spend a lot of time outdoors on trails and this happens from time to time. Lines from the poem that spoke to me include "placid yellow glisten of just-sunrise sifting through maple leaves" and "my feet feeling the chill of the stone floor" and "ears perked toward the street". Red Wing Center for the Arts in Red Wing, Minnesota had a poetry-art collaboration planned for April. The in-person event is postponed but hopefully the book will still be produced.
I have not been to my studio lately because of the pandemic. Using colored pencils and a white paint pen on black paper was a lot of fun. My inner child was thrilled. I am also spending time preparing distance learning for my elementary art students. Probably I will do more pieces that have wild colors with simple materials. Why not?
