It is important to be familiar with the plants around us. Cattails grow in wetlands and are edible. Boiling the brown seed pod creates a treat similar to corn on the cob. The roots are also edible but please do your research before eating. These cattails were growing in Spirit Lake in Menahga, Minnesota, USA.
