The observation is something my studiomate and I noticed by observing the painting. It is not painted from observation. This is a scene from my imagination. What we noticed is that many painters choose a vantage point that is high off the ground when painting from imagination. Interesting.
This is watercolor on a 12x16 clay coated board. This surface grabs the watercolor and holds it differently than most papers.
